PALL MALL is wOrLd's First!

Today is the first bLoG on the monthly showcase of my cigarette box collection.
And this first issue is very special - it is Pall Mall's claim as the
wOrLd's FIrst Side-Opening Pack!

This special pack was introduced in early 2009.


This pix displays the 3 flavors, still not unpacked.



The following is a closer view of the cigarette with the label
showing it's claim.


However, it is sad to say I've not seen this packing this year.
I wonder if the compulsory New Directive Policy pictures has
stopped it's poduction. Pity as it really is a very special design.
One of it's kind!

Next month ( which is just round the corner ),
I will display another of their range that also uses this design.
The Perilly's range, a brand taken over by Pall Mall.

The Black Box wraps up!

As we come to a closing on the black box packagings,

this is one other hardly heard of brand around - Black Gold.

It has 2 flavors, the normal full filters and menthol.

The casing comes in metal box ad has a wrap-around

as you will see below, the opened box view.

As for the SALEM, you will notice that the packaging name

is known as NOVA while Marlboro called it Evo.

Anyway, these 2 names has a close similarity with a locally

produced brand called Promax. They started this name

called REVO on their special taste product which came in

2 flavors, the normal full filter and menthol.

We'll get this product featured at a later time.

As I close off on this black box packaging issue from the new

outlook of today's cigarettes, the next will be this month's

showcase brand - Pall Mall and it's record breaking special pack.

World's first of it's kind!

The Black Box Chronicles

The last bLoG I mentioned on looking up on DUNHILL black box
but I found out that it seems other than it's DUNHILL finecut
kingsize edition that came in black box, of late there is none.

I was told only of the above KENT ( it came in red too )
that has the black box in retail.


Meanwhile, as soon as I've cleared this Black Box issue off the air,
I'll continue with Pall Mall, the Showcase of the month,
that is before July ends.

Black Smoke!

Well, cigarette brands are always in very keen competition in outdoing

each other on their packaging outlook! It must look as good as it's going

to taste! Always spending time in their designs.

With my last bLoG on SALEM's new release of their recent slim packs,

this is their "black box" but still it's a menthol flavor!

Actually this post was supposed to be on SALEM black packs as I mentioned,

but since I also have this Marlboro's new box in black ( labelled TOUCH ),

I might as well present it at the same time.

There is the DUNHILL version though, which has been in

the market for around 6 months I think. It's part of their set of other colors

in this latest packaging design. It has this special lift up cigarette cover inside.

If I'm not mistaken they are the first to have this design.

Well, I'll be posting the DUNHILL black as well when I get hold of it.

And talking about the first, well, if you have noticed the banner at the top right

you might have seen the Pall Mall's special side opening box on display as

cigarette choice of July. Each month I will select a brand to paste up next to

my banner as my choice of the month.

Hope that you liked my collection and hopefully I'll invest a daily routine to write

one each day for I've got too many at hand.

Starting on the Slim side of story!

In actual fact, posting in here is almost as easy as writing

my POEMs bLoGs in bLoGger.Everyday I would write a poem

or something, a verse or a quote and at most times it happens

spontaneously.

I used to write very regularly at Yahoo's Y360, and if I've not

been lazier, I could have done it almost each alternate day as

I have continuous cigarette boxes that came onto me.

New packings were constantly on the shelves and contrabands have

been increasing even until this day. By right I shouldn't be writing

about SALEM menthol today as it belongs to another category -

the new packs with the compulsory deterrent pictures under the
New Directive Policy.

I planed to do it at a later time when I have finished writing all

those old collections. But because this release from SALEM

coincide with JUNE slim packs.

So it seems SALEM is trying to fit in this range.

Well, in fact many years ago there's this brand called Capri that

looks almost like JUNE but they came in soft packs of king size 100's.

It has been off the market for at least 10 or 15 years.

I once did buy one while I was in Singapore.

Later on there's just no sign of it.

This SALEM menthol in white box is as slim as JUNE 

but very cooling menthol, cooler it seems. But, no doubt 
SALEM rules on it's menthol! 
 Until this very day, all you get is menthol and at the least menthol lights.

We can't deny that this is almost a lady's choice though men smokes it.

Since I have started on one of this new packaging, the next one

I'll post on one more of SALEM's latest is it's black box which I think is

it's first time out of it's regular color.

New Beginning

Well, I'm back! Hope everybody has had a great time this hot season!

I am still doing my chores online - "housekeeping" or rather space-cleanings?

Anyway, it took me some time to go over all my bLoGs at my CooLMan 
@Yahoo PULSE ( started as Profile ) and wondered how I could parallel
in their SHINE. I guess not for this time as I really wanna continue this 
bLoG here @bLoGger. 

After all during the time when Y360 was discontinued, I have big plans here 
and that's how this place has been built.

Looking back the days when I bLoG on cigarettes at Y360, it was like a daily journal. Well, it wasn't everyday that I wrote in there but it was very regular - a couple of times a week. Whenever a new cigarette box or a new product is launched I am sure to post it for readers.

At Y360 it was good as there were many visitors to the sites and friends' links and trails were good. Fantastic I should say. But it dies away b'cos Y360 was in a fix. Their storage was in the verge of an explosion and people leaving migrating away, their staffs being rumored leaving for other greener grass. And top of the news was Yahoo's for sale. It was a long overdue case even with Microsoft as the potential buyer. In the end, all didn't go well. With that Yahoo is still standing at this point on a thin string. Just don't know what it will become, yet. The site name Yahoo may not just totally vanished but probably another bid to take over it still prevails. They are still trying their utmost abilities, probably with some new breeds, new ideas. 
That's how there is SHINE now - shining a HOPE maybe?

The last bLoG I posted there was on GIN cigarette ( a contraband cigarette ) and the last write-up was on Environment Day 2009 in June last year. GIN bLoG was posted at the time when I was settled up north at my new place now.

The first bLoG on MILD Seven was on June 13th, 2008 from the record and glad to say that all efforts was not lost as the migration from Y360 to the then Yahoo Profile was proven successful. 
I do hear some bLoGgers that mentioned their old bLoGs has vanished!

I'll catch up soon from where I left off the last post,

Welcome to My Marlboro wOrLd!

It's my favorite collection of MARLBORO cigarette box of the century!

The Sports Special Editions!

The following is a close up of the Triangle-shaped Special Limited Edition.

It's been almost coming to half a year since I took up another post in here 
after being silence from the creation of this bLoGspace.

Now that I have resettled myself from migration 

( from far south to furthest north of the country ) 

since mid March earlier this year, I will invest more time for this bLoGspace.

From the original bLoGs I used to write in Yahoo's Y360 that later migrated over 
their new transition beta as Yahoo Profile ( now labelled PULSE ) 
has not been too accomodating and unexciting. 
There seems to be a cushioning that brought about quite some silence 
as if everybody is not in there! 
There's as if the feel ain't like it was before anymore. 
What more now we have to tackle Yahoo's new Shine!

This disappointment actually has started this space 
but I have not really put in effort to really bLoG about 
my cigarette stuffs simply because there's a question in my head - 
where do i begin?

With that, what I really did the kick off was put in a bLoG news.

Still not decided how I will go about continuing from where I left off 
from my cigarette box bLoGs, 
I've given some deep thoughts over it just recently, 
after I have reinstated my landline with this broadband 
on 18th this month actually.

It got simple - I just have to put in my favorite collections to begin with!
