50 years of SALEM

It is quite prestigious when something is being designed by

some well-known artist and SALEM is so willing to go to

the extent just to bring up it's image!

This has been SALEM's celebration of 50 years of freshness

The year was 1956, as old as I am! Yes, the year I was born!

I bought this somewhere in 2006 while drinking at a PUB
when some pretty sexy promoters came in! 

Honestly this box that came with a lighter do look as

ravishing as this SALEM special limited issue, nicelly packed!

After SALEM Ice

It has been the dawn of the age of New Directive Policy 
not only for SALEM but for all cigarettes - country wide!

Yes! Smokers will know what I am talking about and

so will the cigarette conscious non-smokers!

I wrote in my earlier bLoGs on the 2 aftermath of SALEM

which you see over the shelves these days.

Before SALEM Ice

before the times of SALEM Ice worth looking into,

Black Smoke!

Well, cigarette brands are always in very keen competition in outdoing

each other on their packaging outlook! It must look as good as it's going

to taste! Always spending time in their designs.

With my last bLoG on SALEM's new release of their recent slim packs,

this is their "black box" but still it's a menthol flavor!

Actually this post was supposed to be on SALEM black packs as I mentioned,

but since I also have this Marlboro's new box in black ( labelled TOUCH ),

I might as well present it at the same time.

There is the DUNHILL version though, which has been in

the market for around 6 months I think. It's part of their set of other colors

in this latest packaging design. It has this special lift up cigarette cover inside.

If I'm not mistaken they are the first to have this design.

Well, I'll be posting the DUNHILL black as well when I get hold of it.

And talking about the first, well, if you have noticed the banner at the top right

you might have seen the Pall Mall's special side opening box on display as

cigarette choice of July. Each month I will select a brand to paste up next to

my banner as my choice of the month.

Hope that you liked my collection and hopefully I'll invest a daily routine to write

one each day for I've got too many at hand.

Starting on the Slim side of story!

In actual fact, posting in here is almost as easy as writing

my POEMs bLoGs in bLoGger.Everyday I would write a poem

or something, a verse or a quote and at most times it happens

spontaneously.

I used to write very regularly at Yahoo's Y360, and if I've not

been lazier, I could have done it almost each alternate day as

I have continuous cigarette boxes that came onto me.

New packings were constantly on the shelves and contrabands have

been increasing even until this day. By right I shouldn't be writing

about SALEM menthol today as it belongs to another category -

the new packs with the compulsory deterrent pictures under the
New Directive Policy.

I planed to do it at a later time when I have finished writing all

those old collections. But because this release from SALEM

coincide with JUNE slim packs.

So it seems SALEM is trying to fit in this range.

Well, in fact many years ago there's this brand called Capri that

looks almost like JUNE but they came in soft packs of king size 100's.

It has been off the market for at least 10 or 15 years.

I once did buy one while I was in Singapore.

Later on there's just no sign of it.

This SALEM menthol in white box is as slim as JUNE 

but very cooling menthol, cooler it seems. But, no doubt 
SALEM rules on it's menthol! 
 Until this very day, all you get is menthol and at the least menthol lights.

We can't deny that this is almost a lady's choice though men smokes it.

Since I have started on one of this new packaging, the next one

I'll post on one more of SALEM's latest is it's black box which I think is

it's first time out of it's regular color.
